First there was Konquerology, a compilation. Next came UBIK, the WARSTARS second release and first official studio album. Intended to be the first WARSTARS album that was printed up and mass distributed on compact disc & vinyl, Andy Warstar compiled two different versions of the album to show his band mates. The first included excerpts from live experiments and poetry. The second version had all those bits cut out, leaving only the most polished studio material. The decision was made to keep both versions around, and affectionately title them v 2.1 and v 3.1.
The only mention of UBIK in mainstream media was during an interview on the radio in Portland, OR (the interview can be found on "Greatest Misses"). This was, in effect, an intent to promote UBIK. However, with finances running much lower than anyone expected, the CD was never mass distributed, and became one for the vaults. New material was written, new compilations were burned at home and circulated, and the UBIK album was eventually forgotten.
Now, for the first time since it's underground release, both versions of the album have been compiled into one album. The only difference between this version and the original is that "Marilyn Manson & the Y2K Jams" was added as Track 12, just prior to the explosive grand finale, "Antikreist Reprise". And through the miracle of modern technology, you can appreciate the album as it was originally intended to be - A digital masterpiece. So kick back, relax and enjoy WARSTARS "UBIK"!
